Sandwich and Beer Pairings

Few things are as satisfying as a sandwich paired with just the right beer. We reached out to some top breweries, and they came back with spot-on pairings. Whether you’re craving bold flavors or something more balanced, these combos will hit the spot in all the right ways. Let’s find your new favorite duo.

Son of Juice & Egg Salad Sandwich

Maplewood Brewery’s Special Projects Manager Adam Smith knows a thing or two about balancing flavors. His recommendation? Pair an egg salad sandwich with their bright and smooth Son of Juice IPA. The IPA’s citrus and tropical fruit notes cut right through the rich, fatty umami of the egg salad. It’s a match that’ll make you rethink everything you know about lunch.

Daisy Cutter & Italian Sub

Keli Platek, Key Accounts Manager at Half Acre, brings us the ultimate sub and beer pairing with their iconic Daisy Cutter Pale Ale and a classic Italian sub topped with hot giardiniera. The biscuity malt bill and citrusy bitterness of Daisy Cutter play beautifully off the spicy giardiniera and salty meats. Picture yourself biting into fluffy, crunchy bread filled with salami and mustard, and chasing it with the refreshing punch of citrus.

Bruski Amber Lager & Italian Beef

Noon Whistle’s Joe Condon goes all-in with Chicago’s classic Italian Beef sandwich, topped with spicy giardiniera. He pairs it with their Bruski Amber Lager, noting the malty sweetness of the beer complements the savory beef, while the refreshing finish cuts through the richness. The subtle caramel notes in the lager elevate the heat of the giardiniera, bringing the whole experience together. Enjoy this classic combination for the perfect dining experience, you surely won’t be able to fuggetaboutit.

Stella Artois & BLT

Max Bakker, Master Cicerone ® at Anheuser-Busch, keeps it classic with a BLT paired with Stella Artois. He says the BLT is a humble sandwich packed with all the elements of the perfect bite –  savory and salty bacon, creamy rich mayo, aromatic and acidic tomato, crisp and crunchy lettuce, and lightly toasted yet soft bread. Stella’s clean, crisp flavor will help amplify the tone of the flavors of the BLT without overpowering them while also gently cutting through the hidden richness of the sandwich with each sip. It’s a pairing you’ll go back to time and time again.
